The Leadership Program represents a new concept in graduate education, designed to meet the needs of mid-career leaders. It is highly flexible to allow self-motivated learners to pursue a graduate degree while making their own work environment the laboratory for their learning.

Are you a teacher moving into administration? A principal who wishes to improve your ability to serve? A principal becoming a superintendent of education? Our online program will prepare you for the expanded service opportunities.Our program allows you to study at home, interact with others in online courses, and enjoy the benefits of a mentored internship.

This program provides advanced academic preparation for professionals interested in working in different management areas of higher education. Would you like to serve as a university administrator, faculty member, researcher, or policy maker at a public or private institution, agency, or association of higher education?  We can help you to polish the necessary skills.

Become a catalyst for change in the world by enrolling in the online 36-credit Master of Arts (M.A.) Leadership in Social Innovation program. This project-based experiential and experimental learning program will allow participants to develop their skills and knowledge in Social Entrepreneurship, Advocacy, and Services/Development initiatives. Participants may apply for $10,000 matching seed grants to initiate their social innovation capstone project.

Orientation 2024

We are excited that you are joining us for your leadership development journey. We are home to four distinct programs: Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, Leadership, and the MA in Social Innovation. 

Program orientation is a required component of your graduate leadership development journey. You will register for LEAD630 - 2 credits for summer semester.  This intense, 5-day program will launch your graduate journey, setting you up for success. 
Dates: July 22-26, 2024
Location: Hybrid. Andrews University on-campus & Virtual via ZOOM.  We highly encourage you to attend in person if at all possible.
Who: All graduate participants who started the program in fall semester 2023, spring semester 2024, or summer semester 2024.
Travel & Lodging:  Please book your own transportation and lodging. There are rooms available on campus in the Advent Prayer Center, Campus Center, and Lamson Hall. If you would like to book on-campus housing for your stay during out leadership events, please contact guest services. There are also many hotel options within 15-20 minutes of campus. Please contact the School of Leadership if you have any questions.
Meals: Some meals will be provided during Orientation. More information will be provided shortly.

Leadership Conference and Roundtable 2024

We are home to four distinct programs: Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, Leadership, and the MA in Social Innovation.

The 1-day Leadership Conference and 2.5-day Roundtable events are both required components of your graduate leadership development journey. You will register for LEAD600 - 0 credits, for summer semester. 
To celebrate our 30th year anniversary, the School of Leadership is hosting a Gala Dinner Sunday evening, July 28th.  More information will be provided shortly. Please plan your travels accordingly.

Leadership Conference Key-note Speaker

Dr. Albert Reyes PhD

President and CEO, Buckner International

Albert L. Reyes is the sixth president and CEO of Buckner International and has worked for Buckner since 2007. He previously served president of Buckner Children and Family Services. This year marks the 145 th anniversary of Buckner, whose mission is serving vulnerable children, families, and senior adults. Prior to joining Buckner, Reyes was president of Baptist University of the Américas in San Antonio, where he led the school through dramatic changes in its name, accreditation, and structure. Under Reyes, the school’s annual operating budget increased from $700,000 to more than $3.2 million. Reyes also served as pastor of three churches and as a manager for Sprint’s National Customer Service Center. He has been involved in numerous roles with the 2.5 million-member Baptist General Convention of Texas, serving as its president in 2005. He currently serves as vice president of the Baptist World Alliance, USA Region.
Reyes received a bachelor’s in business administration from Angelo State University and master of divinity and doctor of ministry degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also earned a doctorate in philosophy from Andrews University. He is a member of the board of directors for the Christian Alliance for Orphans, Angelo State University Foundation, and Stark College and Seminary. In 2022, Reyes received the Leadership Excellence Award in the category of mega nonprofit at D CEO's Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards and the UN Day Global Leadership Award from the Dallas Chapter of the United Nations Association of the USA. He was also selected as a member of the 2023 D CEO Dallas 500, the most influential business leaders in North Texas.
He has written two books, The Jesus Agenda: Becoming an Agent of Redemption (Believers Press, 2015) and Hope Now: Peace, Healing, and Justice when the Kingdom comes near (Iron Stream Books, 2019). His third book, Never Alone: The Power of Family to Inspire Hope (Iron Stream Books) is due out in 2024.
Reyes and his wife Belinda have three adult sons. He enjoys reading, writing, hiking, movies, and travel. The Reyes family are active members of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas.
